Before and After #5: Visual Hierarchy
The original image that I chose had various ovals with information, but they were all the same size and with the exception of the title, the font was all the same size as well. The various colors are near each other in the color palette but in this situation, the colors make it seem that certain areas of this diagram are different, although they are not.
When I re-did the image, I made the title larger and put it in the upper left corner. I then made the center item (shape and font) larger so that your eyes would be drawn to the main topic first within this graphic organizer. This should help with visual hierarchy. I also included a simple graphic (feet) to help draw even more attention to the center. I also used the color orange, which is shown to be a warm color that draws more attention. I then kept each "bubble" in the graphic organizer that branched out the same size and uniform colors, but not the same color as the middle "bubble" to show some difference. Since each outside bubble contains equal facts, I made them all the same color so that your eye isn't drawn to different ones with variation because of a color difference.
